​​Father Antonio “Tony” Ricarte, is originally from Cebu, Philippines. He was ordained on June 16, 1998. Four years after his ordination, he was given the opportunity to leave his country to take further theological studies in Missiology at the Gregorian Pontifical University in Rome. During the period of his studies in Rome, he came to the US for the first time in July 2003 as a “summer priest” at St. Joseph Church, Oradell, NJ. That marked the beginning of his journey in the Archdiocese of Newark. Before coming to Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, he has been assigned as Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph Church, Oradell (2009-2011), Sacred Heart Church, Haworth (2011-2013), Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church, Garfield (2013-2015), and Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Roseland (2015-2019). He was also the Chaplain of Bergen Catholic High School, Oradell (2011-2015).

Deacon Joe, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick where he majored in Italian and minored in Spanish and Education. He also has a Master of Arts Degree from Rutgers in Italian Literature. He has a Supervisor's Certificate in Education from Montclair State University. Deacon Joe taught Italian and Spanish at Princeton High School for 2 years and Italian for 33 years at Dumont High School. He also received a National Defense Education Act Scholarship from the Federal government to study for 10 weeks in Florence, Italy and two separate Fulbright Scholarships for two Summer Seminars in Perugia, Italy. He married Kathryn (Misty) Sullivan in 1970 and they have four children and three grandchildren. Deacon Joe was ordained a Deacon in 2002. Looking back at all of his life experiences as a student, teacher, husband and father, Deacon Joe believes that this was God's way of preparing him for his ministry as a Deacon.

At OLQP, in addition to his regular duties of assisting at Mass, bringing Holy Communion to the sick and home bound, counseling, officiating at wakes, funerals, baptisms and weddings, Deacon Joe conducts Bible Study, moderates the Bereavement Ministry with Deacon Tony, conducts the St. Padre Pio prayer service on the first Friday of each month and is the Chaplain of the Maywood Council of the Knights of Columbus.

Justine Garcia

Justine has been a parishioner at OLQP since 1995.  In 2001 she began her journey in Ministry as a Catechist.  With a deep commitment to fostering spiritual growth and lifelong learning, Justine oversees the development and implementation of religious education programs for all ages.  Holding certifications in Catechesis and Youth Ministry brings 24 years of experience in faith formation, and pastoral care.  Passionate about engaging and nurturing the faith of individuals and families, Justine collaborates with clergy, volunteers, and the community to create enriching experiences.  Outside of her role as PARE, Justine also serves as Chairperson of our Pastoral Council and is a member of the Order for Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA).
 
Justine is married and has two children, a resident of Maywood since 1993.  Justine is the former President of our Rosary Society, and the former Coordinator of Youth Ministry. In addition to serving at OLQP Justine is a Paralegal in law firm serving Special Needs Families.
