The Rosary Altar Society is one of the oldest in the Church and possibly the most enriched with indulgences and privileges. The primary purpose of the Rosary Altar Society is to “praise and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and to secure her patronage by the recitation of the Rosary for the mutual benefit of all the members throughout the world.”
The only obligation on the members is to recite the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary once a week. Any living Catholic who has the use of reason may be admitted; although, primarily women, men are allowed. Our Lady Queen of Peace Rosary Altar Society usually meets on the first Monday of the month, from September to December and March to June. Our meetings are posted in the bulletin and open to everyone. During the month of October we sponsor the Annual Parish Breakfast and celebrate the Blessing of the Roses. The history of the blessed roses records many cures and favors through the touching of the sick and infirm with blessed rose petals. We also sponsor the Annual Christmas Craft fair. Donations are made to the Church and other worthy causes. How to Pray the Rosary
Marian Feast Days HOSPITALITY Have you ever attended a reception at OLQP? If so, did you ever say to yourself, “I wish they had my favorite dessert.” Well now you have the opportunity to add that delicious pastry to our table. The Rosary Society has always provided OLQP with delicious pastries and coffee whenever we gathered as a Parish Family. We would like to extend an invitation to all the Parishioners to contribute baked goods, or goods baked by your favorite bakery or supermarket; this may include other items such as milk, orange juice, or water. CHRISTMAS FAIR On Sunday, December 1, 2019, Our Lady Queen of Peace will be hosting a Christmas Fair from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., showcasing the talents of crafters and vendors.
